There is no sound on my iPhone 6+ with this app.. Could you fix it plz, thx

Nice game, horrible QA

This is a nice solitaire/coop boardgame. Sadly, it is marred by interface issues (selecting a card to apply an effect - one of the most common mechanic of the game - is incredibly glitchy) and, more importantly, a totally game-breaking bug that makes one of the enemies (the Centipede) lock your game in a "done - cancel" loop, resulting in an uncompletable run. That such a _huge_ bug could make it past any sort of testing really makes one questions whether the developpers of this game even tried to complete a playthrough at least once. Again, the game beyong those problems being great, this is jarring - if not infuriating. What a terrible waste.

terrible interface

Xenoshyft started off as a pretty fun cooperative game where you and your friends played as different divisions of an evil megacorp that has run afoul of some alien bugs who dont take kindly to your mining operation. I was excited to see this iOS version of it for only $2, until I saw how cheap and bad it is. You know a game has a bad interface when the tutorials awful robot voice (which is often drowned out by over-dramatic music) tells you that youll need to minimize the tutorial text in order to complete the next step of the tutorial. The devs should have just programmed that text prompt to pop up somewhere OTHER than on top of the card you had to select, but its clear that the priority on this adaptation of the physical game was "cheap and fast" rather than polish. This is one of those digital card games that makes almost no attempt to take advantage of its digital nature. Your troops attack and health numbers go up to reflect bonuses from their equipment, but thats about it. They didnt even make it easy to see what cards you have in your hand. If youve played the physical version of Xenoshyft, you know that some equipment cards can be used to change how combat plays out. Take a moment to imagine how youd program that into a digital version of the game. Are you imagining it? Good. Now heres how this app does it - the screen zooms in and only shows the troop and the alien that are fighting. Got an auto-turret on a guy at the back of your lane that you could use to insta-kill an alien before it kills your guys? Well, better remember that (and use the games awkward method for switching between equipment cards on a troop) and zoom out and use it. Combat doesnt even have a visual indicator for when one side gets a special "first strike" attack, even though thats a HUGE deal. If you reduce an alien to zero health with an effect, it just stays there (probably because of a sloppy way of programming the aliens who come back to life after their first death) leading to some awkward "Wait... did I kill it or not?" moments. It would have added a ton of personality to the game if each troop spoke some lines (like that one card game thats stupidly successful on iOS), but no, all we get is the robot narrator. Troops dont even scream when they die. The militia card has no text and is blurry. Great quality control in this game! Xenoshyft can be played solo, but it really works best as a multiplayer game, and it requires a LOT of coordination between players. "Oops, Im fighting a boss, does anyone have a spare grenade?" "Can I use your discount so I can afford that armor?" That sort of thing. This app is so bad that Im not going to slog through a multiplayer game to see if theres ANY mechanism for properly communicating, but I doubt it!

Just need some bugs fixed

This is actually a really fun game. I just wish they fix a bug allowing you to choose a card from the discard pile.

Failed implementation

First of, lets give the game its due: its fun to play and the artwork is superb. The game is ment to be played online with other players to tag team the game in coop. The big problem is that theres NO GAMES ONLINE! So youre pretty much cut out of most of the fun of the game. It would of been simple for the developper to add a capitain chair mode where a single player can play multiple roles like pandemic for example but I guess they thought more money could be made if all people had a copy... Presently, theres too many things wrong with its present form to be worth the price thats asked. Important bugs that need to be ironed out that have a direct impact on the game play. For example: -impossible to pick trrops from the discard deck which renders some cards dead weight. -crashes intermitently. -cant resume a game. So if you had to close your ipad for some reason all progress is lost. The games already hard enough toco additionnal handicap of bad playtesting.

Dont update! Super bugged

I just installed the new update and now it only displays a weird zoomed in look on the left side of every card. When you hover over a card to zoom and view it you cant even read it because its zoomed in so bad. Please fix this and for those that havent downloaded latest update, dont.

Great deck builder

Thanks for fixing the card graphics glitch. This is a great and challenging deck builder with some unique mechanics.

Unplayable

The tutorial freezes halfway through and nothing will let me continue.

Frustrating QC still

Centipedes still dont work right since they added needing to press "Done" after every stage of combat. Games take forever and the bugs make it unenjoyable. I feel like Ive given this game enough chances. I can no longer recommend buying this b Great game but SO frustrating that they dont thoroughly test each release!!!

Thank you for the update fix. Great game!

The latest update fixed all my problems. I highly recommend this difficult but rewarding game.

Recommended!

I was pretty impressed. Ive played only a handful of sessions but I really have enjoyed it. I would say the quality of the digital app is pretty good, compared to my expectations of board game apps these days. The mechanics of the game were also pleasantly surprising--the player powers seem kinda weak but make sense in practice. The scaling is also fun, but beware: the enemy can, and will, totally eat your face off if the cards dont go your way--but thats a staple of both deck builders and co-op games and isnt that big of a detractor. I havent delved as much into the online multiplayer but look forward to it soon. Do I recommend it? Yep. Its a well implemented app and a neat take on deck building that keeps me coming back.

Must have if you enjoy the card game!

This game is a great translation of the Cool Mini or Not card game of the same name.

Fantastic Game!

This is a Grade A game! You start off with a certain amount of militia and resources, and you slowly build up your deck with better guys, bigger guns, and tougher armor to battle increasingly difficult enemies. The game is very tough, but very rewarding. I only hope they will add a button to let us take back a move (sometimes I used a gun without wanting to), but other than that its fantastic!

Sweet Game!

Really fun, but there should be something under the options that just shows the whole deck- its kind of hard to understand the scope of the game when there isnt a library to view the cards- thatd be huge for those of us who havent played the game before. Thanks!

Amazing!

This is a great translation to the real game! Solo mode is really tough tho. I can only make it to round 7 so far. It would be nice if they made it to where you can play with NPCs.

Still a little buggy, pun intended

Decent adaptation of the table top game. Its fun if a little harder than Id prefer. Took me 10 tries to finally win and it locks up resolving my final battle. Had it lock up one other time. And I cant figure out the interface when picking a card out of my discard pile. Hopefully they will clean it up and I can give it the full 5 stars

Great start!

Great iOS version of the physical game Id just bought. For an early version of the app, its very polished and looks great overall. Definitely works better on larger screens as my iphone 5 feels somewhat cramped when playing a game. Definitely play the tutorial as some of the controls take a bit of getting used to (2 finger scrolling especially). Most of the issues can be mitigated by adding an undo button to allow for fat-fingering the wrong card. Ive gone through ~20 solo games so far and havent had a hiccup so far with stability. Will be trying the multiplayer in the near future and will try and update then.

Really cool

Fantastic as far as deck builders go. The artwork is really cool and the mechanics are solid. Theres a bit of a learning curve but the tutorial is short and sweet. My only suggestion would be to make it so when you are in single player to have up to 4 lines with different bases. Essentially multiplayer but you just switch between 4 bases and play it yourself. It would greatly expand the experience. Other than that its a lot of fun, and very challenging.

Great fun overcoming the challenge!

I am unsure why players are complaining over difficulty (solo play) since I cant imagine the game having longevity if you could beat it a good percentage of the time. For solo play, you must be sure to utilize the different skills of your division as the rounds increase since the number of division abilities climbs as the difficulty does. However they kick off a single card which is sometimes hard to remember to use. My recommendation is to use the science lab. The second ability allows you to do two damage every time you play a science card which is ridiculous. If any other readers are wanting a leg up, purchase the grafting lab add on. Your first round survival rate is greatly increased with cards like the arm blade which does one auto damage at the beginning of every fight. I beat hard with no damage to my base with Grafting on the first try after a few normal Grafting games. I have defeated hard with Science Lab as well. Although my base only had 4 of 15 hp left. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Game, App Improving

Great card game and the app makes it very easy to play, keeping all honest on the rules. The multiplayer is a little long and really helps to be in the same room. Typing while playing is difficult. Overall, great scifi game with combat and aliens!
